Bellanca Version 2009
Bellanca Decathlon, the Flight-8 Multi-Talented Workhorse
About the full-size original: The Bellanca Decathlon was designed by the Bellanca Aircraft Corporation (formerly Champion Aircraft) as a two-seat advanced aerobatic competition aircraft in 1971. By the year 2000, nearly 900 were flying worldwide. The Decathlon’s outstanding performance, predictable handling, rugged construction and classic good looks made this aircraft a favorite of flying schools and aerobatic pilots. It has become a true classic in the realm of sport aviation.

Giant Semi Scale Model: Built to a scale of 1: 2.8, our exciting giant-scale Bellanca Decathlon will be the favorite tow-plane for large scale sailplanes. Powered by a 100 to 120cc gasoline ignition engine, its colorful scale appearance, impressive large size, aerobatic performance and realistic flying characteristics will make it the star attraction at any airfield, whether towing gliders or just flying for fun! Its scale operating flaps allow excellent low-speed control for short take-offs and landings under small airfield conditions, and add an additional safety factor to glider towing. Note: Our 6.77 cu.in. DLE-111 opposed-twin fits very nicely under the cowling! Construction: The Flight-8 Bellanca is an ARF (Almost Ready to Fly) aircraft, built using highly accurate CNC machining techniques and top-quality materials, including balsa, plywood, aluminum and a complete accessory package, including a rugged fiberglass cowling, scale wheel pants, all engineered to withstand the rigors of many flying seasons. The wings, fuselage and tail surfaces are of built-up construction (no foam cores) and covered with Ultracote, the very best polyester covering film, made in Germany. An Ultracote finish guarantees long-term durability, easy cleaning and realistic good looks. The perfect advertising media: The whole aircraft can serve as your “business card” or to promote your products. On all orders of 35 or more, a four-color finish of your own design can be applied, i.e. lettering, company logo, or advertising message. Many variations are available!
